Chris Doyle
Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Chris Doyle's "Untitled House" series is a collection of hundreds of meticulously rendered miniature watercolor paintings depicting suburban homes floating on a blank white plane. The artist paints these homes from memory of the suburban neighborhood of his childhood. In these paintings he explores the cultural construction of landscape and home, raising questions as to the authenticity or artificiality of the intimacy involved in these spaces. These works, in the artist's words, function as "portraits of people [he] hasn't met yet."
